How to host a public website on your home Raspberry Pi

Sometimes, I like to let the Internet control things in my home. Sometimes it makes the live stream turn on and off lights, sometimes it drives a remote control car around my living room. When building these projects, I usually use raspberry pie Listen for network traffic and execute events when someone visits the site.

I can provide people with my IP address and forward my router ports to my Raspberry Pi, but I would rather keep my IP private and my network as secure as possible. We can get the best of both worlds through SSH tunnels, nginx and virtual machines in the cloud. All of this creates a reverse proxy, and visitors visit a public IP address that is not your home network and are directed to the Pi on your LAN.
