Microsoft builds AI Upscaler to compete with DLSS and FidelityFX

Microsoft has begun to hire software engineers to develop machine learning-based upgrade algorithms, which are implemented using its DirectX/DirectML application programming interface (API) designed specifically for Xbox and Windows systems. The technology will compete with AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution and Nvidia’s DLSS.

The software giant recently posted two job vacancies, one is Senior Software Engineer the other is Graphic Lead Software Engineer Looking for graphics experts who will work on new technologies in Redmond, Washington (via Technology enhancement). These openings were announced on June 18th and June 30th, just a few days after AMD officially started supporting its FidelityFX super-resolution upgrade technology on Microsoft’s Windows platform. Since the release of open information last month, the technology seems to be in the early stages of development.
