Acer’s sub-brand Predator Storage is the latest player to join the storage and memory game.As a new member in this field, Predator Storage’s memory product portfolio currently includes Apollo And Talos lineup. Although the Apollo series has proven to be a worthy competitor in the memory market, the potential of Talos remains to be seen.
Predator Storage for sale Talos Memory In single-module and dual-channel demonstrations. The latter can reach up to 64GB (2x32GB), and the frequency range starts from DDR4-2666 up to DDR4-4800.
The Talos kit is the opposite of Apollo. Predator Storage chose a simpler design without the lavishly decorated RGB lighting, so the radiator adopts a black and white theme with only the Predator logo in the middle.
When holding Talos in your hand, the first thing you notice is its weight. The memory module is significantly heavier than the other memories we tested. The radiator is made of zinc alloy material. Talos weighs 97.91 grams (0.22 pounds). The memory is high, but not excessive at 45.6 mm (1.16 inches).
Talos is equipped with an eight-layer black PCB, and Predator Storage claims that the heavy-duty heat sink helps control the operating temperature. The 16GB memory kit consists of two single-ranked 8GB memory modules. The integrated circuit (IC) is from Micron. However, Thaiphoon Burner cannot detect the exact model. If we fill in the blank, IC may be Micron E-die (MT40A1G8SA-075:E).
Talos memory modules are checked in at DDR4-2666 at the timing of 19-19-19-43. Predator Storage’s Talos memory does not perform well on Intel platforms. The memory kit ranks last in terms of application and game performance, and does not perform well in any particular workload.
Talos performs better on the AMD platform. The memory kit found itself in the middle of application and game performance. Once again, Talos did not show any outstanding performance in specific benchmark tests.
Overclocking and delay adjustment
Increasing the DRAM voltage from 1.35V to 1.45V allows us to push Talos from DDR4-3600 to DDR4-3900. We had to increase the CAS latency by one cycle, but managed to reduce tRAS by two cycles.

With the same increase in voltage, we tightened the memory timing of Talos from 18-20-20-42 to 15-18-18-38. Considering that the memory uses Micron ICs, this is an acceptable margin.
Predator Talos DDR4-3600 C18 will not attract everyone’s attention. It looks good, but the uneven performance of the memory kit is one of its weakest points. Talos outperformed the Intel test platform on our AMD system. This will inevitably reduce the number of potential buyers for this particular Talos memory kit.
