Quiet! Shadow Rock Slim 2 Review: Quiet, affordable performer

[ad_1]
The mainstay of the German chassis, power supply and cooling is quiet! Introduced a new budget-friendly four heat pipe cooler for system manufacturers with medium TDP requirements. Shadow Rock Slim 2 is equipped with a 135mm Silent Wings fan and large radiator, providing an attractive option for those looking for a high-quality CPU heat pipe cooler for medium to medium PC builds. The only thing missing is RGB. But this is the same for quiet courses! For many potential buyers who are more interested in performance and price than fancy light shows, this is a professional.

Shadow Rock Slim 2 is bundled with installation hardware and is suitable for the most common AMD and Intel desktop CPU sockets that will be popular here in 2021. Although it does support Intel 2011x and 2066x sockets (square ILM installation only), it does apply to less than high-end desktop (HEDT) space. Even our overclocked i9-10850k is a bit beyond the upper limit of what this radiator really should be used for. But of course, the vast majority of systems, especially those with budget-priced air coolers, will use CPUs with lower requirements than the recent 10-core Intel Core i9.
Quiet! Provides a three-year warranty for Shadow Rock Slim 2.
Instead of printing documents on paper, be quiet! Have chosen to provide product information and installation instructions through a scannable QR code. This helps prevent paper waste and always ensures that Shadow Rock Slim 2 provides the latest version of content for builders and upgraders.
Shadow Rock Slim 2 has four copper heat pipes that are placed side by side and then offset as they move up into the aluminum fins of the cooling stack.
The cooling stack consists of 54 individual parts, including a top frame with a brushed finish, a polished heat pipe cover, and machine screws.
The base of the cooler is in direct contact with the milled heat pipe and the milled aluminum block, which doubles as the installation point of the cooler. The fixed mounting block also helps to handle the thermal load as a small, sturdy radiator with actively ground teeth.
The base of Shadow Rock Slim 2 is polished smooth and flat, and no visible light can be seen between the base of the mounting block and the steel ruler. The universal mounting surface allows for smooth thermal compound distribution.
Our solder paste showed slightly irregular patches during the diffusion of the thermal compound, but it did cover almost all the integrated heat sink (IHS) of the i9-10850K. We also saw a very consistent patch that can fit the heat sink to our test CPU very well. As a foreshadowing, we will soon see that the slightly incomplete expansion does not affect the cooling performance.
Shadow Rock Slim 2 uses a single 135mm Silent Wings fan with a rated speed of 1400 RPM and an operating time of up to 80,000 hours. The nine-blade PWM fan is designed for quiet operation and optimized airflow.
Be quiet! Shadow Rock Slim 2 uses a relatively simple installation process. Once fixed, the 135mm fan will be fixed with a pair of spring clips so that it can be adjusted on the memory DIMM as needed. Technically, the cooler can be installed with vertical or horizontal airflow, but the horizontal (pictured) will provide maximum clearance for constructions that utilize system memory and higher heat sinks.
